During this month I continued with a massive learning binge. I completed several books on wealth and personal finance, read up on health and eating, discovered some very interesting things about intelligence and the human brain, and even studied various material on male / female social and relationship dynamics.
The books and programs that I completed were:
1. The China Study – T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell
Great insight into what is killing a lot of people. Incorrect eating habits. It is very deep with the research and has changed how I look at what I eat.
2. The Richest Man in Babylon – George S Clason
An old classic. Great read for sure. Realized some things that I needed to start doing. I am now saving 10% of all income each paycheck.
3. The Honeypot Method – Dan Kurani
Great free e-book which talks about social media and value marketing
4. For The Young Fabulous and Broke – Suze Orman
Interesting video speech about money
5. The Science of Getting Rich – Wallace D Wattles
Very old, yet powerful book. A LoA book at the core. Great read
6. The Art of War – Sun Tzu
Read this one for fun mainly. Things were much different back then!
7. Laws of Money, Lessons of Life – Suze Orman
Didn’t actually enjoy this very much. Targeted at the older crowd with kids…after the 9/11 stuff happened.
8. The Sex God Method – Dan Rose
Hmm, interesting ideas on why women get fed up with men in relationships
9. Man Transformation – David DeAngelo
Wow this was a big one. 40 hour in depth seminar focused on personal development and man / woman dynamics. Quite amazing.
10. The 0 Hour Workweek
Fun book that is directed at doing what you love, and it won’t feel like you are working.
11. Think and Grow Rich – Napolean Hill
This is the manual for success. Old school. If you don’t read this, you are really missing the boat.
12. The Genius Code – Paul Scheele
Ahh, wow very interesting information about learning to tap into your vast subconscious mind to pull out answers and creativity that you never thought possible. Very in depth with lots of exercises and learning programs. I’ll be working on this one for a long time. There is so much to absorb here.
So what happened with me during February?
Diet Changes
I decided to switch to a Raw Food diet this month. So far I am still learning. I don’t have the diet quite down yet, since it is very new to me. I am continuing to tweak it as I go, and have been looking up various recipe ideas on the internet. I will probably see if I can pick up a few more books on the subject before long. While trying new things, I can say that I have found a new favorite food. Avacados! It’s odd that I have never eaten them before this month. They taste so amazing!
Continuing P90X and BRINGING IT!
I am still doing P90X. I did take a few days off due to feeling a bit tired, however I am continuing along as usual, I just started where I left off. Now, into the first week of March I have actually begun swapping in Insanity workout routines instead of P90X just to keep it fresh. I was honestly getting a bit bored of P90X and it was feeling less intense. The last 30 days are supposed to be very hard, and now that I have included Insanity I am feeling that first week soreness again. WOW! And I thought I was completely in shape now haha. I love it.
Lucid Dreaming
Another interesting thing that I have begun doing this month is attempting to get myself to become lucid in a dream. Before this month, I probably only remembered 1 or 2 dreams in the past 12 months. Now that I have learned some things about lucid dreaming, I have recorded a dream almost every night. I started this only in the last week of Feb, so I still have some ways to go. I did have one moment in a dream where I became lucid right at the very end. I was being chased by a man with a knife, and then realized I didn’t have to run because I was dreaming and I could control everything that happened. I then flew up into the air and then punched the guy away really far into the distance. It was pretty exciting and it caused me to wake up.
If you wish to learn about what lucid dreaming is, for now you can read up on wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream I’ll write more on the subject as I experience it and learn more about it myself.
My habits, and what I have learned
I honestly didn’t incorporate any new solid habits this month as I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to work on. It was more a month of exploration than anything. I didn’t stick to a solid posting schedule either like I did for January. I was experimenting with just posting whenever I felt the inspiration to do so. For March I have a slightly different plan. In order to become even more effective with my time, I will make it my goal to create the habit of working solely on one task for 1 to 2 hours at a time. It is something that I have done on and off and it is very powerful, however I want to make it a DAILY habit.
As you may have noticed from my post series so far this month, my focus is on productivity and effectiveness. With all of the things that I want to get done, and the small amount of time to do them, it only makes sense.
Continuing my interest in psychology and what drives us as humans
Another interesting subject which I read into slightly during February was something called ‘Cold Reading.’ It is a technique for watching people’s body language and being able to discern things about their personality, thoughts, mood, etc. Some people use it to appear as a psychic, however I may be looking into learning how to read subtle cues and body language as part of my interest is social dynamics, psychology, and the like.
Renewed focus, desires, goals, and ideas
Over the last week or so, I have begun to realize more of what I find exciting. I have decided to push hard and pursue a few things.
1. I will officially put it out there that I am offering Personal Results Life Coaching. Have something you are trying to overcome? Want somebody to give you strategies, push you, and hold you accountable? Give me a message and we can schedule a free coaching session.
2. In addition to that, I will be looking to dive into professional speaking. This is something that I am very excited about. I have always loved giving talks, however I haven’t ever realized that I could actually just do it as a part or full time career. If you need a speaker for an event, or have any ideas and advice I’d love to hear about it!
3. Finally, I’ll be building up a business on the side as well. I have realized from talking to people that there is definitely a market out there for people to design professional websites with an easy to update and customize backend. I’ll be building up a team of designers, and doing a bit of the work myself based on my experience. If you or somebody you know would like a professionally designed website with a customized Wordpress / Thesis backend let me know. I can also offer consulting on marketing and social media as well.

Raw diet? Sounds very interesting. I’m currently try to gain weight so I don’t do raw yet, but I’d definitely like to try it.

I’m still doing some research on it however I am looking at ways to build muscle and weight while sticking to the raw diet. It is absolutely the healthiest diet based on hours of research that I have done, so I don’t plan to go back. I feel better than I have ever felt, and I even require MUCH less sleep now.
I don’t really want to get “huge.” My goal is to become extremely strong, balanced, and flexible. I am improving my physical health so that I can participate in strenuous sports and activities without feeling pooped.

Haha yea man I hear you. One of my limiting beliefs in the past with beginning to exercise and eat healthier was that I kept thinking I would lose even more weight because I too am very skinny.
Since beginning this 2 months ago I have actually gained weight and I feel much better and more confident about my body, not to mention all of the increased energy. I used to get tired just walking up the steps or even standing up after sitting for a while!
Hey Colby, congratulations on the P90X results – it is an awesome program I have found success with as well. For being in your early 20’s, I admire the drive and dedication you have at such an early time in life. and I love the theme of your website, personal development kung fu. Very cool!

Thanks man the name just came to me after 2 days of name brainstorming as an “Ah HAH, this is it!” moment and I had a strong feeling that it had to be the one to use.
